My 1st Baby is Having Her 1st Baby

What a surprise it was to find out my daughter is pregnant!  We went to lunch together the other day and she says she wants to walk around Shopko after lunch.  I am excited to have her up visiting from California, so of course I said yes.  She is a little more quiet than normal, but I figured she was tired from the drive the day before.  As we walk into the store she fumbles with her phone and asks me if I wanted to see a really cool picture.  Sure I want to.  She searches for a moment, then smiles and hands me the phone.  I look at it, then look at her a bit confused, then I look again... there is a picture of a home pregnancy test with a positive symbol.  I didn't know what I was looking at at first.  I looked again as she asked me, "do you know what that is?" with a devious smile.  Then it hit me like a ton of bricks.  I burst into an embarrassing dance and little scream and grab my daughter and embrace her in the biggest hug ever.  I'm going to be a  Grandma for real.  I mean biologically. I have 3 grand daughters already, but this one is my blood.  I can hardly contain myself.  She is only 6 weeks or so, but I already want to buy stuff and make things, and tell everyone from the highest hill tops.  I don't care about the sex of the baby, just as long as it is healthy and happy.  It is so neat to see how she and her husband are, how much he protects her and how he rubs her belly.  She told me that he even talks to her belly now, and before he goes back to Afghanistan he wants to record his voice so she can play it for the baby every night.  This is so the baby knows who's daddy.  I am so proud of the both of them.  They have done very well for themselves and I believe they are in a great position to begin a new chapter in their lives.
